We have been there many times before but every visit brings new adventures. This time we decided to go to the very bottom pool of a waterfall. The trip down was treacherous This time we decided to go to the very bottom pool of the waterfall. The trip down from the top was treacherous, no path (surprise surprise) not much by way of vegetation which meant not much to hold on to as we half shuffled, half slid our way down the slopes to the bottom. We finally made it - safe and in one piece. And how beautiful it was - totally worth the fear. We spent a couple hours there basking in the untouched beauty that surrounded us. The breeze catching the spray from the waterfall, cooling us as we sat on the rocks. The Red Disa (a rarely seen flower found in SA which grows on VERY wet places in the peak of Summer), growing in the cracks and gaps right in the waterfall. So beautiful. We ate, drank and laughed.
