2022-08-10 11:57:17 +0000 UTC View PostToday I want to tell you about this lovely mushroom called "chicken of the woods" It quickly became one of my favorites mushrooms out there, after I just randomly stumbled upon it while wandering in the forest. They grow on dead and dying trees and they grow big! It's impossible to miss them as they are brightly orange and grow in big groups. And yes they are edible and very tasty! I have been eating them for the past few weeks and I am getting pretty good at cooking with them :> It's best to collect parts of the mushroom that are soft to a gentle squish, they are plum and moist on the inside ❀ For cooking: pan fry for a bit before adding oil or anything else to get rid of the excess moisture then add oil and spices by taste. It's a lot like chicken by the texture and can be a great option for vegan cooking ♡ When it comes to finding them it is a bit tricky, they have a pretty random growing pattern and usually appear around late summer and early fall. They are more of a in a right place in he right time find. Please only collect the small part of the mushroom that is soft and edible and let the rest continue it's life cycle so there will be more of this beautiful mushroom left where it belongs, in the woods :>

2022-06-11 07:46:01 +0000 UTC View Post❀ Goomy tree care (rubber tree, ficus elastica) ❀ Care basics: ❀ Watering only when the soil is almost completely dry (less in winter) ❀ Remove dust from the leaves and mist them every few days ❀ It needs a lot of indirect sunlight (direct sunlight will burn the leaves) ❀ Repotting as less as possible (after the roots show up from the bottom) ❀ Fertilizing in spring with small amounts of water fertilizer once a month ❀ Preferred temperature between 15-25 degrees C The way I water my goomy trees is by showering them in the shower with room temperature water when the soil dries out almost till the very bottom, which usually is once in a week and a half in winter and once a week in summer. But that highly depends on your environment so I recommend just checking the soil and act to accordingly to that. They tend to collect quite large amount of dust, so wiping them off and misting happens way more regularly than watering itself. Over-watering results in browning of leaves especially on variegated (white with green) plants. Another way to tell that the goomy tree needs some water is the position of leaves as some of them let their leaves down and look more sad when they need some water. A bit more about the goomy tree: It is in fact a tree as the name suggests and in natural environment it grows quite big, between 20 to more rare 60 meters tall.(see the pictures for a fully grown one) There is a few varieties of them and it is one of very common house plants due to it's easy care and lovely appearance .
