My students told me today they missed my “nerd glasses” which made me giggle. I normally wear contacts; but it’s been so dry in Chicago it’s been hard to wear them. So today when I walked into work; they were so happy I was back in my “nerd form” 😂 I love my students so much, they always keep me laughing and on my toes. Secretly I feel the most confident in my “nerd” form though. I think it’s the most authentic part of me. And I’m happy embracing myself exactly how I am. ✨

Scientifically intriguing, this phenomenon adds a touch of mystique to my aesthetic. 😏✨ But beyond the scientific explanation, my eyes reveal so much more. They reflect the duality and diversity within me, reminding me that beauty lies in embracing our differences. Each color represents a different facet of my personality, a blend of contrasting traits that make me who I am. The contrasting colors in my eyes symbolize the harmony between my analytical and creative sides. One eye represents logic, rationality, and precision, while the other embodies imagination, passion, and spontaneity. Together, they create a unique perspective through which I see the world, appreciating both the facts and the wonders that lie beyond. My eyes also reflect my empathy and compassion. They allow me to connect deeply with others, as I believe that true understanding comes from looking beyond appearances and embracing the diversity of experiences and perspectives. My eyes tell a story of acceptance, reminding me to be open-minded and embrace the beauty in every individual. So, when you gaze into my eyes, what do you see? One of my favorite things to do is smoke a little green and go for a walk.😮💨🌲✨ I feel like cannabis can make anything more enjoyable. I always describe cannabis as a “bubble bath for my brain” affect. Which allows me to be more present and relaxed in that moment. 💞

As an art teacher; sometimes it can be a bit challenging for me to come up with a fixed curriculum. I'm a very go-with-the-flow kind of person, and I thrive on the spontaneity and creativity that art brings. But you know what? Somehow, I've learned to embrace this aspect of myself and find a way to make it all work! As an art teacher, my main goal is to inspire my students and ignite their passion for creativity. While having a structured curriculum can be beneficial in many ways, I've found that allowing some flexibility and adaptability in my teaching approach can lead to wonderful surprises and unique learning experiences. There are times when I struggle to plan out every single detail of my lessons in advance. Instead, I let the creative energy flow and trust my instincts. I believe that art is a powerful tool for self-expression, and by encouraging my students to explore their own artistic voices, I'm able to create a dynamic and engaging classroom environment. Of course, this doesn't mean I completely abandon structure and organization. I still ensure that my students cover essential art concepts and techniques. However, I find joy in tailoring my lessons to their individual interests and needs. This helps them feel a sense of ownership and connection to their artwork, which boosts their confidence and overall engagement. Despite the initial challenges, I always feel deeply satisfied with my job and work as an art teacher. Witnessing the growth and progress of my students, seeing their faces light up when they discover something new, and knowing that I've played a part in nurturing their love for art fills my heart with immense joy and fulfillment. 🎨✨

✨ Finally got my hands on the photos from the unforgettable teacher conference in Brooklyn! 🗽💼 Reconnecting with my amazing friend @taylorteacheshistory was such a highlight of the event. 🤗🌟 We used to be colleagues in the same school district, but life took us on different paths, with each of us now teaching at different schools. 😌 However, it was beyond cool to reunite in this vibrant city and dive into the world of education alongside the educators who inspired us to become teachers in the first place! 🎓🌈 Learning, growing, and reminiscing about our shared experiences made this trip truly special. 💖🙌🏼
