An update to my 2nd degree burn healing journey. ❤️🩹
It’s been exactly 1 week since the ER visit. I went in today to get the special burn bandage taken off. The doctor said she’s amazed at the progress! My skin is already newly regenerated. Believe it or not, it feels just like the skin all over the rest of my body.
However, there is an extremely extensive scar. The doctor said to expect the scar to take at least 1 year (optimistically) to fade away, if it ever does.
I do not know what I’m going to do yet. Needless to say, I’m devastated about the prognosis of my best “asset”. I feel this would be a huge turn off for most men…so I have a lot to think about.
In the meantime, I’ve been looking at every scar treatment this world has to offer, and bought myself a pint of mint ice cream for dinner tonight. 😭
