At first it was scary, my heart was beating like crazy as I stood at the door of the airplane, looking down at the tiny fields and houses. A thousand thoughts ran through my head: “Why am I doing this?”, “What if something goes wrong?”, “Will I be able to do it?”. But when the time came and the instructor gave the signal, I stepped into the void.
Freefall is something unimaginable. The wind whistles in your ears, your adrenaline is off the charts, and it feels like you're flying at the speed of light. At this moment you feel absolute freedom and realize how big and beautiful our planet is. And then - a sharp jerk, and the parachute opens, slowing down your fall. You begin to glide smoothly across the sky, enjoying the stunning views. The earth seems so far away and calm.
Now I understand why people love extreme sports so much and are looking for new experiences. Skydiving showed me that we are capable of more than we can imagine. It was a step outside the box and it changed me. I am ready for new adventures and challenges!
