Also, Scots is not Gaelic. There are two Gaelic languages… Irish Gaelic (pronounced Gay Lic) Scots Gaelic (pronounced Gah Lic) I know neither of the Gaelic languages, as I was never taught them.
Scots used to be called “slang” which most Scottish folks don’t appreciate because it alludes to lazy speaking or being lower class.
If you would like to have an English word translated into Scots or if you would like me to type a sentence in Scots so you can see the spelling, don’t hesitate to ask. It’s worth noting that there is not a Scots word for every English word.
